I hated the color and wanted to repaint it. My husband was opposed to redoing it. In the sunlight I thought the color looked pink… hummm. We continued to go back and forth until the neighbor across the alley came over and asked my husband why we painted the garage pink. New paint and a couple of coats later I was satisfied.

Thanks for your observation Frank. Unfortunately the Nikon 28–300 suffers from heavy vignetting, which as you correctly suggested, needs to be removed in post processing. I should be more careful next time (and that’s one of the reasons I don’t want to use lenses like this, there are quite a few things that can go wrong).

I had to chime in, this reminds me of a friend (I live in Miami, so this works here) whose daughter insisted on wearing a bathing suit, everywhere, all the time, for a month. And she indulged her. That would be tough for me just on sheer potty issues alone but my friend definitely took the “this battle isn’t worth fighting” approach. Her daughter is back to normal clothes .

I learned how to type in High School on a typewriter, I can type 95 WPM on QWERTY keyboard and over 130 WPM on a DVORAK style keyboard (used to anyway). I recommend getting kids into touch typing early, using games like “TyperShark” can be really helpful, there are so many free typing websites out there with typing games for kids that are completely free, just google “free typing games” and you can pick the lot of them.Typing saves you time which = money.

It looks like you put your insulation on backwards with the paper vapor barrier towards the cool attic side. If you live in a cool climate, air moisture can work through the drywall and collect in the fiberglass, causing mold and mildew problems. The vapor barrier is designed to keep moisture out of insulation and should be on the warm “conditioned” side in cool to cold climates. Along those same lines, no more than one vapor barrier should be used in a wall or ceiling (traps moisture).

I was at that panel and I actually found it frustrating because the moderator didn’t let the speakers talk for long enough. He would rush the panelists along through questions so more questions could get in, but this left for less discussion. I’d rather have quality over quantity of questions answered. Overall, I was very dissapointed with the panel because I expected more of a discussion and I feel questions weren’t explored enough (due to the moderator rushing them along). It had potential, but it’s the moderator’s fault (not the panelists) why it failed.

Well, Lance, I, too, have been put in your situation. My wife drives a minivan…and I have a Chrysler PT Cruiser, which is also on it’s last leg. With 4 kids and 2 dogs…and sometimes a visitor tagging along I need room. I think, I say, I think, I have come to the conclusion that the Ford Flex is the vehicle of choice.
