Where is that in Wellington exactly?I got back into satking because there’s a fantastic old skate park in Mountain View CA that’s an 80 s style swimming pool’ with roll in edges and three deep bowls joined by various hips. I used to work 5 minutes drive from it and tear out there most mornings and lunchtimes for a skate.Being an old fella lacking any tricks the modern parks with all their coping, stairs and rails kinda leave me a bit cold. I do like a nice concrete sweep or a half pipe though

I agree with required reading. If a kid’s parents don’t push reading, that’s the only way some will see what’s out there. Kid #3 had a hard time learning to read. It was a struggle watching him get so frustrated. He loved Physics so I went to the nearest college. A lovely professor there gave us two college physics text books. Son was in the 6th grade and taught himself to read with them. High school required reading expanded his range of books.

Yesterday I went thrifting and got 5 items for $12! I think my favorite was this prom dress that I’m going to refurbish. I’m a sophomore in high school and I’m hoping to major in costume design (growing up I always wanted to be a fashion designer, but now, I feel like costume design is better suited for me). Most of the schools I want to apply to require a portfolio. The first thing I imagined when I saw this $4 dress was Cinderella. Really close color and long with tulle. I am going to add Cinderella sleves and turn it into a Cinderella costume! It will hopefully go in my future portfolio

You can do hanging leg lifts. Or you can lay on a decline bench and hold a medicine ball behind your head and let your back rest on the bench then lift yourself up just so your torso is parallel to the ground. Hold it there for a second and return to the starting position. This kills the lower abs. Also you can sit on the edge of a bench and do leg lifts there.

I home school my kids, ages 7.5, 9, and 10.5, and picture books are an important part of our studies in just about every subject, especially history, science, and math. I like the way that story ends. I think it’s exactly right that the point of tithing is to get people thinking about what they owe to God, and then hopefully they act on it. Tithing is an act of faith and that’s why it’s so important. That’s also why the headline of the story is misguided. The IRS is never going to be able to use the same ideas or system for taxes that we use for tithing because taxes are not a matter of faith. We could definitely use a simpler tax code, but not one where we rely on conscience for people to decide what they pay taxes on.

Not sure if this will work for everybody trying to get a Galleon Badge. But for some reason I noticed my badge turned up today even though it did not after I completed all CoS chapters. This was after I tried to re-visit Book 1 Chpt 1 Moment 1(the one with the galleon in the lower drawer that pops out). I do not recall collecting any other additional galleons recently. Either that or it’s just a coincidence and maybe it just takes time for Galleon badges to show up.

Checked on Amazon for books by Ms Nye and discovered one called “19 Varieties of Gazelle”. Looked familiar. Last time the library had their surplus book sale I had picked it up for 25 cents because it had a Middle Eastern author that I’d never heard of but figured no one else would want to buy. It’s laid in the pile awaiting for me to select but each time I looked at it the title just didn’t seem that interesting. Have read several selections and now have a reason to finish it.

I think audioswap needs more categories. I realize the songs are broke down by genres. It would be helpful if there is a mood category. For example: If someone is looking for a song pertaining sadness it would be easier to find. All you would have to do is click on the mood your looking for and it will give a list of songs.

The quality really isn't visibly better, and the black boxes on either side of 4:3 videos are distracting and unnecessary. The new player really ought to be an option for uploaders and/or viewers, if you must have it at all. There are still plenty of unfixed problems waiting.

I generally agree, but sometime minutiae are not so minute. Sometimes they are subtle points that change everything e.g. if someone spots a small but fatal flaw in the methods, then science writers need to listen. What is the hold up on G+ for K-12 schools. Schools don't normally provide email addresses for students so kids under 13 using it is not an issue. It would be a great thing for Faculty to use instead of Facebook…which is public to all the kids, even if they aren't 13.
